History of our organization

The Four Chaplains Prayer Breakfast is held each year in memory of the Four Chaplains. We honor the sacrifice by recognizing local leaders who live by their values and continue their legacy by awarding former students from the Rabbi Alexander D. Goode Elementary School with scholarships that impact their future.

The Four Chaplains Prayer Breakfast started about 30 years ago and has now become an annual event with hundreds of attendees, thousands of dollars awarded in scholarships, and an endowment fund with the York County Community Foundation.

The community is invited to stream the live, virtual edition of the 2021 Four Chaplains Prayer Breakfast, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 12.

‘Legion of Honor’

To recognize and encourage acts of volunteerism, brotherhood, and sacrifice among Americans of every age and station of life, the Chapel of the Four Chaplainsestablished the Legion of Honor Program. The Legion of Honor Award is given in recognition of exceptional selfless service on the part of an individual which contributes to the well-being of his or her community, and to a spirit of interfaith cooperation.
