For the past 29 years, the York community has gathered to honor the legacy of the famous “Four Chaplains of the Dorchester,” and York’s own member of the Four Chaplains, Rabbi Alexander Goode. 

We mark and honor their sacrifice by gathering to remember and reflect — and through your contributions — award scholarships to worthy students from the Alexander D. Goode School who will continue this legacy of self-giving service. 

Few events in our community have held such longevity and we feel that is because the message of the Four Chaplains continues to ring true some 79 years later.

As we look forward to our 30th anniversary, we hope you share in our excitement and will join us. The evening gala will include a VIP reception with our guest speaker, retired Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, followed by dinner and Travis’ keynote presentation.

We believe you will find his story of hope and inspiration worthy of our 30th Anniversary.

Finally, in keeping with the tradition of our Four Chaplains Breakfast, we will be holding our youth breakfast the morning of May 12, 2022, during which time Travis will share his story with selected youth from our community. 

It is because of generous sponsors that our scholarship continues to impact lives and that we can share the story of the Four Chaplains and Travis Mills with area students.
